We both got invited to a Halloween party by our respective friends. Aksana was dressed as a hippie (the easiest costume she could think of); Chris was a doctor (wearing what he had in the car). Chris was intrigued by a conversation between Aksana and her friend about recycling. Chris gave Aksana his number before she left the party. Not a minute went by before Aksana called him up to ask about a tire light on her new car.

The day after, Chris, being a gentleman he is, offered to show Aksana around. In return, Aksana decided to feed Chris homemade chili that she was planning on making. Chris could not resist food even though it was Aksana’s first attempt. Maybe, it was fate or stars aligning that day, but Aksana and Chris just clicked!

Chris left Christie Digital and his first order of business was to get out of town. So he booked a 10-day cruise to the Eastern Caribbean with Aksana. This was Chris's first cruise and first trip to the Caribbean. There was no end to the fun.

Having both lived in Memphis for so long, it made no sense neither had made it to New Orleans. One day we just packed our bags, booked a hotel, and went.
